John Adams Predicts Atlanta will Have 'Soft Landing'
In todays Atlanta Journal & Constitution, real estate specialist John Adams is predicting a temporary slowdown in the Atlanta market and expects a rebound in most parts of the country next year. Overheated markets could take longer. Check out his comments at www.money99.com.
In our northern suburbs, we are still seeing sales, yet it is still the same mantra-great houses (read resales that are updated, clean, painted, etc) are still in a sellers market mode, average houses are in a buyer's market mode. There are some sellers with their heads in the sand about their own home's condition and they need to get real about what buyers have always wanted in a resale - LIKE NEW- because of the HUGE inventory of new homes here in Atlanta, they have better choices out there. Builders are also offering a vast array of incentives-I saw one new home sub in the $600's in the heart of Alpharetta offering $25K in upgrades--that's practically a finished basement!
